New York City will host five nights of music to commemorate SPIN Magazine’s 25th Anniversary! Although, the event has sold out, the mini-concert series will be streaming live via Spin.com and American Express sponsor, ZYNC’s Facebook Page.
Each night will feature five hours of nonstop live performances. The full schedule of Performances is as follows:
July 26: Smashing Pumpkins 7pm
July 27: The Flaming Lips 7pm
July 28: The Black Keys 9pm
July 29: The National 7pm
July 30: Spiritualized 8pm
“This concert series is the best of both the old and the new world,” says Malcolm Campbell, SPIN’s publisher. “Not only are we helping to produce incredible live music, the cornerstone of SPIN since its inception, but we’re able to broadcast it to fans all over the world with our partners at American Express on the web.”

Following the conclusion of the first round of U.S. tour dates, the Flaming Lips have added an additional 14 North American tour dates this fall!
The Lips will be stateside again on Sept. 19 at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minn., followed by four Canadian performances.
They also have tour dates scheduled in Eugene, Ore. on Sept. 29; Oakland, calif. on Oct. 1-2; Austin, Texas for the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Oct. 10; Saint Petersburg, Fla. on Oct. 13; Lake Buena Vista, Fla. on Oct. 14; and St. Augustine, Fla. on Oct. 15.
Their tour is scheduled to wrap up in Boca Raton, Fla. on Oct. 16.

The Flaming Lips have been gracing the stage of many of the hottest summer festivals and they are happy to add one more to the list, the 2010 Austin City Limits Festival! The Lips will take the stage as the headlining act for the Sunday evening events. Other acts headlining the festival include The Eagles, Muse, Phish, The Strokes and M.I.A.
The three day festival is held each year at the lushly green Zilker Park in Austin, TX. From October 8-10th, festival go-ers will be surrounded by 130 plus artists from around the world, the best of local cuisine and fashion, fun for the kids, and the latest in eco-friendly happenings. The Flaming Lips will release their newest album “The Flaming Lips, Along with Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches Doing ‘Dark Side of the Moon’.”
The Limited Edition vinyl will go on sale April 17th, National Record Store Day, and the CD will go on sale May 4th.

Oklahoma has been called a lot of things, but boring shouldn’t be one of them. The University of Oklahoma, the Boomer Sooners, the Brickyard and, of course, The Flaming Lips all hail from the Oklahoma City/Norman, Oklahoma area. And if you were in town for the New Year, you would know that nothing can be boring when The Flaming Lips are performing.
On New Years Eve, frontman Wayne Scott kicked off the band’s annual “Freak Out” show, complete with the world’s largest mirror ball and balloon drop. At midnight, the band busted out with Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.”
Accompanying acts Stardeath and the White Dwarfs also joined in the fun for the single “Dark Side,” which was released in late December on iTunes.

Do you live in Los Angeles? Are you a Flaming Lips fan? Then listen up!
The Lips have announced a secret show to promote their upcoming double album Embryonic, which comes out today. The event takes place this Thursday, October 15th at The Flaming Lips Pop-Up Store at The Nike Theater in LA.
Tickets will be available first-come, first-serve starting at NOON on Thursday when the store opens. If you can’t wait, pick up a ticket TODAY at Amoeba Records when you buy your copy of the new CD.
Doors open at 6:30pm for the secret show… but just because you have a ticket, doesn’t mean you have a spot. When the venue reaches max. capacity, the doors will close with or without you inside! Bust out those sleeping bags and plan accordingly!
